Benjiman Pool Obituary

Benjiman Pool Sr., known as "Shine" to the old timers, was called home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on December 22, 2024 in Klamath Falls, Oregon at the age of 82.

Born on June 11, 1942, Ben spent his life dedicated to his family who he adored and cherished every moment with.

Ben graduated from Bly High School in 1960 as the Valedictorian of his class.  He then went to work at Loveness Logging Co., and then Weyerhauser where he was a planer man, knife grinder and millwright until they closed the plant in Bly in 1984.  He later moved to Weyerhauser in Klamath Falls until they sold to Collins Products.  He then went to work as a planer man at Modoc Lumber until their closure in 1995 and then to Gearhart School in Bly where he was the Janitor until his retirement.

Beyond his professional life, Ben was a man of many interests.  He had a profound love of doing leather work, making many purses, belts and wallets for people all around.  He loved the outdoors always hunting, fishing, or taking all the family out for a day trip exploring different things in the woods.  Ben was a proud member of the Order of the Antelope (OOTA) since 1975 where he earned a lifetime membership and was known in the herd for his famous beans.

Family was a cornerstone of Bens Life.  He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Bonna Pool; mother Dorothy Jean (Granny) Pool, sister Lillian Harris; son and daughter-in-law Russell and Steff Pool; daughter and son-in-law Dixie and Marvin Bailey.  Grandchildren; Tayler Pool, Zakkery Fernandez, Paiton Fernandez and his great grand children Avery and Aspen Attebery and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Ben was preceded in death by his father Walter "Dick" Pool, his brother Carl "Cess" Pool, and his son Benny Pool Jr.

Those who knew Ben will remember him as a giving and thoughtful man.  His love for his family showcased his compassionate nature, always ensuring they were well cared for and loved.
