Charlotte Elaine Johnson, 67, of Klamath Falls, Oregon passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. Charlotte was born December 28, 1957 to Elmer Eugene Rose and Iva Pearl (Clark) Rose in Eugene, Oregon. She was the youngest of four surviving children and grew up in Madras, Oregon. On April 4, 1975, Charlotte married Rickey Eugene Johnson and together they raised five children--Nicole, Catherine, Jennifer, Rickey and Jeremy. She lived in California while raising her children and worked at various citrus packing houses including Sequoia Orange in Exeter. She later became a USDA inspector for mainly stone fruit and travelled to various packing facilities throughout the Central Valley in California.
She loved visiting the beach and collected seashells and driftwood that she used to decorate her home and yard. Charlotte was very crafty and crocheted bears, blankets and more for family, friends and Veterans recovering in the hospital. She also spent time sewing and crafting other items for her home and those around her. She loved reading, watching movies, and growing beautiful flowers and houseplants. Charlotte was a very talented sketch artist and oil painter as well.
She taught various skills to a young group of Brownies and Girl Scouts as the leader of Troop 364 in the early eighties. Charlotte also volunteered as a 4-H project leader where she taught mini gardens and floral arrangements. She collected everything related to Elvis as well as Salt & Pepper shakers, animal creamers, chickens for her kitchen, and potpourri jars.
Her love for her beautiful home state drew her back to reside in Klamath Falls where she would continue to visit the beach travelling several hours each way in order to gather driftwood and seashells to decorate her surroundings or craft into windchimes and other art. From 2012 until his death in April of 2022, she resided with her boyfriend James. They had planned to build on land they purchased in the mountains. She had learned how to build a home from the ground up while in California. After James’ sudden passing, Charlotte drove across the country to pick up her brother Arthur in North Carolina and brought him back to Klamath Falls to care for him until his death in September of 2024. She was resourceful yet stubborn and when there was an obstacle, she was determined to conquer it herself no matter what it was.
Charlotte was a proud grandmother to Wyatt, Pearl, Jordan, Matthew, Nathan, Grace, Bartholomew, Michael, Sariah, Angel, Mellissa, Rickey III, and Opal. She was a loving great-grandmother to Juliette, Trenton and Brayden.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Arthur and Frederick. Charlotte is survived by her five children, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and her sister Daisy Davis. She will be deeply missed by so many.
