Darlene Haight Obituary

Darlene Marie Haight (Mayfield) 72 of Klamath Falls, Oregon passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024. She was proceed by her husband Gordon Haight and is survived by their daughter Jennifer Haight.

                Darlene was born April 3, 1951, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She was the daughter of the late Margaret Simpson and Robert Mayfield. She was raised in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and she was a graduate of Klamath Union High School, class of 1969.

                She married Gordon Haight December 13, 1969 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She traveled with her husband in the military to Germany, Clovis New Mexico, and Oklahoma City. When Gordon retired from the military, they returned to Klamath Falls, Oregon.

                Darlene was a Licensed Practical Nurse where she did nursing mostly in Oklahoma City. Darlene also did daycare for children. Darlene along with her husband Gordon, cared for her mother Margaret, and her companion Erice Barison until their passing.

                She enjoyed the Coast, and enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. She liked reading and word fill in puzzles. She enjoyed her many pets over the years. Darlene loved learning about her faith. She was very involved in her daughter’s school activities. She truly looked forward to spending time with her family and friends, especially her nephew Austin Mayfield. She even learned to like sports and went to a few Red Sox games.

                Darlene is predeceased by her parents, husband, her beloved step father Alva Simpson, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter Jennifer and six brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.

                In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans or American Cancer Society.

                Darlene’s service will be May 24, 2024 at 1pm and will be held at Davenport’s Chapel of the Good Shepherd.
