Darrell Foster Wanamaker

Darrell Foster Wanamaker, age 88, was born on August 12, 1937 in Gooding, Idaho to Foster and Susie Wanamaker. Darrell attended school at Gooding, Idaho where he graduated in 1956. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves until October 31, 1963.

He married the love of his life, his soulmate, Barbara Sue Hicks on September 11, 1960. They were married 65 years. They were blessed with four beautiful children.

He worked at various jobs in the agriculture and sawmill industries until he became a potato inspector for the State of Oregon. Darrell retired in 1999.

He passed away on October 6, 2025.

Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Foster and Susie; son, Gregory Wanamaker; brother, Farrell Wanamaker; great grandchildren, Braxton Walden and Deacon Walden.

He is survived by wife, Barbara Wanamaker of Malin, OR; daughters, Loretta (Greg) McCulley of Malin, OR; Marnetta (Alan) Walden of Tulelake, CA; son, Allen (Sheila) Wanamaker of Eagle Point, OR; grandchildren, Kristen (Robbie) Masten of Malin, OR; Jordan (Cody) Dodson of Tulelake, CA; Mandee (Chris) Shaull of Medford, OR; Jake (Anna) Walden of Tulelake, CA; Tyler (Kylie) Wanamaker of White City, OR; Riley (Ryan) Carle of Newberg, OR; and nine great grandchildren with one more on the way.

A private family graveside service will be held.

A social Celebration of Life will be held for the public at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Barbara Wanamaker’s home.
