David Masters Obituary

David Masters,68, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was born on May 2, 1956, In Yakima, Washington, to Samuel and Neva Masters, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Sam and Walter Masters, and his four-legged children Mikey, and Mazey May.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Maryellen Masters, with whom he shared 40 years together, 36 of those years in marriage. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe, Jimmy and Daniel, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish his memory. He is additional survived by his four-legged Children, Mason, Madison, and Bluto, who brought him much joy and companionship throughout his life.

David's life journey was one filled with love, sacrifice, and hard work. He met his wife Maryellen in 1984 at the Worden Truck Stop in Oregon, where Mary was a waitress, and David was a truck driver. Their bond was immediate, and they married on July 16, 1988, after relocating to Washington in 1986 to be closer to David's family. In 1922, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to Maryellen's family, Where David continued his work as a long-haul truck driver.

David's career in trucking began when he was just 18 years old and lasted until his retirement in 2006. His retirement came after a life-altering accident in Arizona, where he selflessly sacrificed his truck to save the life of another driver. His bravery in that moment was a testament to the generous spirit that defined him.

After retiring, David and Maryellen moved to Dorris, California, where they reopened the Bar 40 Cafe. After a fire tragically closed the business, they relocated to Klamath Falls, Oregon, in 2008, and opened the Back 40 Cafe, which they successfully ran until 2021. It was then that David and Maryellen sold the business, allowing him to finally enjoy the well-earned rest of retirement.

Throughout their 40 years together, David was deeply dedicated to Maryellen, and their love was the foundation of his life. He proudly displayed their marriage license in their living room, a symbol of his unwavering commitment and pride in their bond. David's devotion to his wife was evident in everything he did, and their love story remains one of mutual respect, admiration, and a shared lifetime of memories.

David was a man who will be remembered not only for his strength and integrity but also for the way he lived for others. His kind heart, selflessness, and sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. He will also be fondly remembered as an uncle, always generous with his time, support, and love.
