Fredrick Horn Obituary

Fredrick “Rick” Joseph Horn, 81, of Klamath Falls, Oregon, passed away on May 29, 2026
following a brief illness. He was born on March 25, 1945 in Klamath Falls to Fred and Valya
(Saracino) Horn, joining his elder sister Carole Lee, who adored him.
He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1963. He played football and basketball all
four years, and was a member of the Letterman Club; his passion and dedication earned him a
spot as quarterback for the football team his senior year. After high school, he moved to the
Los Angeles area where he attended college and enjoyed his time in Manhattan Beach and
Santa Monica. Later, he was a realtor in the San Francisco bay area for a number of years
before moving back to Klamath Falls to manage his properties and be close to family.
He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle. He was kind and charismatic with an easygoing
smile. In his younger years he was a fantastic amateur photographer. He had a lifelong love of
the outdoors, spending his younger years on the California beaches and his later years looking
over the lake at Moore Park – a local treasure he thought many people here take for granted.
Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Survivors include his nieces/nephew, Kimberly Dykstra (Marvin), John Crowe, and Regina
Gooding; great nieces Ashley McPherson (Joel) and Ciara Dykstra-Ogborn (Nick), and their
children Aiden McPherson, Olivia McPherson, Jaxon Ogborn, Alex Ogborn, and Josie Ogborn.
He also leaves behind his brother-in-law Steve Gooding, close friend Leighann McWilliams, and
numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Carole Lee (Horn) Gooding.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 22 at 10:00 AM at Klamath Memorial Park.
