Harry Molatore Obituary

H. David Molatore, a devoted family man, respected businessman, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 in Klamath Falls Oregon, at the age of 88. His life was marked by dedication, warmth, and quiet strength—values he carried in every role he played, from father and husband to community member and entrepreneur.

Born on August 18, 1936 in Klamath Falls Oregon to Harry and Lillie Ann Molatore, David graduated Klamath Union HS in 1954 and Oregon Technical Institute (OTI) in 1958 with a degree in X-Ray Technology. Though he began his professional life in healthcare, he soon answered the call of the family legacy, helping to run Molatore's Restaurant and Motel in Klamath Falls, Oregon. For nearly four decades, David was the steady and welcoming presence behind the scenes of this beloved local institution, working alongside loved ones until its sale in 1995.

David's greatest joy came from simple, meaningful pleasures: a sunny day on the golf course, a full house during the holidays, and quiet moments spent with his loyal dog, Irie. Family was always his top priority, and his love and pride extended to every generation.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Donna; Brother Steve Molatore (Linda), sons Roger Molatore (Mary) and Charles Molatore (Cheri); daughters Joy Merhoff (George) and Susan Day (Ron); eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Baggett (Mitch), whose memory remained close to his heart.

David’s legacy is one of kindness, reliability, and deep-rooted love. He will be remembered not only for what he did, but for the way he made people feel—respected, valued, and always welcome.

A private family gathering will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a local animal shelter or a charity of your choice, in memory of David and his faithful companion Irie.
