Jeannine Wirth Obituary

On 10/30/23, Jeannine M. Wirth, a lifelong resident of Klamath Falls,  passed peacefully into her eternal life while in the loving arms of her son, Robbie, at her home.  Jeannine was born 10/25/34 in Klamath Falls to Clethro E. “Blackie” Newcom and Jacqueline F. (French) Newcom, and was also raised by her step father, Malcom A. “Nick” Carter.  Jeannine was married in August 1950 to Harold L. “Hal” Wirth, a sailor returning to Klamath Falls from WWII.  Their union was a perfect match that lasted almost 60 years until Hal’s passing in January 2009.  They started their family after Jeannine graduated from KUHS in  1952, which included four children, Catherine A. Carnes, Roger L. Wirth (Cheryl), Robert J. Wirth, and Anthony H. Wirth, (Carma), all of whom survive Jeannine, along with 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.  Jeannine was always close with her sister, Carolyn Lee Langdon of Eugene, Oregon, who also survives.

After her children were older, Jeannine was employed in several positions, initially as a Nurse’s Aide at Merle West Medical Center.  In 1971, Hal was hired to help maintain the Crater Lake Lodge and Jeannine became manager of Denton Park campground and cabins while also working  in the Crater Lake Lodge gift shop.  Upon returning to Klamath in 1975, Jeannine returned to her Nurse’s Aide position and also completed a 2-year Nursing degree at OIT.  She also worked as a Medical Records Technician for Merle West where she and Hal both worked for many years until their retirement.  Jeannine very much enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing and crocheting and entertaining family and friends at her home.  Jeannine was a member of Shasta Way Christian Church and subsequently, Peace Memorial Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Klamath Falls as well as the Church Universal Triumphant and she worshiped her Lord and Savior daily.  Jeannine was a sweet and loving person who was always smiling and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

A Remembrance Celebration and potluck will be held on Saturday, 11/25/23 at Peace Memorial Church from 12 – 3 pm, and continue at her home for all who are interested in attending.
