Julia Beryl McPherson (9/14/1925-2/28/2024)
Julia passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and with family support.
Julia was born into a strong immigrant family of 3 sisters and 1 brother in the "thumb of Michigan". By an early age she was helping on the farm and was skilled in using a team of horses to plow their fields. She excelled in her scholastic pursuits and graduated High School early. By age 18, (and before she even drove a car) she had acquired a private pilots license and enjoyed flying single engine planes for many years.
Julia moved to the Detroit area and secured factory work that supported the WW II efforts. She was a genuine "Rosie the Riveter'. She met the love of her life in a returning US Marine, W.W. McPherson and together they produced 3 children and created a home in suburban Michigan.
She returned to college and earned a degree in elementary education. Her educational pursuits continued and she obtained a Masters in Reading. She enjoyed a storied 30+ year career teaching youngsters to read and enjoy literature.
She & Warren moved to Klamath Falls in 2000. They travelled extensively in their retirement years and visited their far-flung children often. She remained active in her church serving in various roles in women's ministry and Deaconess functions.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years and her siblings.
Julia is survived by: 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild on the way.
