Kathryne Margaret Spoon (Fleet) passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior on May 21, 2023. Our devoted wife, mother and grandmother was born on September 9, 1944 at The Hilltop Hospital in Klamath Falls to Frank and Annabelle (Collins) Fleet. A lifelong resident of Klamath Falls she graduated High School from Klamath Union in 1963. A chance meeting with Richard would change her life forever, as they were wed on August 6, 1967. In the years that followed the two spent time watching and participating in racing and riding cars, motorcycles, and snowmobiles. The birth of their son saw Kathie step away from work to focus on running the home. Her meticulous detail to housekeeping and finances were second to none. As Neal grew older and started school, Kathie began to volunteer at Peterson Elementary School. Her work ethic, intelligence and grit propelled her into the roll as Head Secretary, a position she served for nearly 20 years. During the 1980’s and 1990’s, the family spent many weekends at their property at Rocky Point on the shores of Klamath Lake, a place close to Kathie’s heart with cherished memories from her childhood. Summers also saw the family head to Shasta Lake with their close knit group of friends. After retirement, Kathie and Richard spent their winters in Arizona as snowbirds. A testament to Kathie’s character is found in the numerous lifelong friends they made while spending time in the desert. She will be missed by all those that had the privilege to meet her. She is preceded in death by her parents and younger sisters Nancy (Whittle), Betsy (Carlson), and Mary. Kathie is survived by her husband Richard, son Neal (Shannon), grandchildren Josef and Jacob and older brother Fred. A private celebration of life will be held at a later time. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers, staff, and administrators at Marquis Plum Ridge for the care and support they provided.
