Larry Marshall Murrell, 73, of Klamath Falls, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. Born in Williamson, West Virginia, on October 24, 1952, to Sarah Wilkinson and Julius Hatcher. Larry graduated from Williamson High School in 1971. A year later, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served honorably as a Staff Sergeant (SSGT/E-5) from 1972 to 1979. He was the recipient of numerous honors, including the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm.
Larry was well known in Klamath Falls for his photography, refereeing at the YMCA, fishing, hunting, singing in his choir, attending church conventions, and spreading the gospel. He was affectionately known by his peers as “Sweet” and “Stymie,” and by his children as Dad, Daddy, and Papa Bear. His love, laughter, and smile will live on in our hearts forever.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Brenda. He was a proud father to his children — Somjai, Nigel, Vanessa, Adam, LaToya, Shanna, and Sabrina — each of whom held a special place in his heart. Though some were his by birth and others by marriage, he cherished them all as his own. He is also survived by his brother, Vernon, 13 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tishara Louise; and his sisters, Patricia and Sandra, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Davenport Chapel of the Good Shepherd on November 12 at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends and family who wish to offer support may contact Davenport Chapel of the Good Shepherd for information on how to contribute to the Murrell family.
