Leonard Wayne Townsend was born in San Francisco California on April 23, 1968 to parents LeeAnn and Bobby Townsend. Lenny died peacefully in his home of natural causes on September 27,2024. He attended Gearheart Elementary in Bly, Oregon, and high school in Bonanza, Oregon where he excelled in both basketball and football. He attended Haskell where he studied auto mechanics. He graduated from Southwestern Indian Poly Technical Institute with a degree in resources. Lenny was the proud father of four children and four grandchildren, Cheynowa, his favorite daughter, her help mate Paul Anquoe and children Heston and Kiwaku. Sons, Justin Lein and his wife Taylor and sons Quintin and Cooper, Justin Glenn and Titus W. Lenny was also survived by his mother LeeAnn Chase, sisters Tessa Coolidge, Tammy Dewey, Glenda Townsend, Rachel Macy, Amanda Townsend and Martina, brothers Glenn Townsend and Albert Townsend. And many neices and nephews. Lenny was preceded in death by his father Bobby Townsend and brother Tyler Townsend. He both enjoyed and was passionate about his work which included fighting wild land fire and working a variety of forestry jobs. Lenny also worked as a builder and did remodeling. His work included a mega church and high rise buildings in Las Vegas, Nevada. He also worked remodeling homes for his tribe. He loved his co-workers and family and was always willing to help others. Lenny's hobbies included rodeo, mechanical work, camping, and fishing. Funeral services will be held at the Fort Bidwell Indian Community Gym, Fort Bidwell, California at 12:00 p.m. on Friday October 4, 2024.
