Lewis Hewitt Lowe died December 16, 2019 in Klamath Falls Oregon following a long illness. He was 76 years old.
He was born February 15, 1943 in Minnesota to Viola (Toso) Lowe and Ensign Loris H. Lowe. After losing his father in the Pacific Theater during World War 2, he and his sister were raised by their mother in Pelican Rapids, MN.
After graduation from high school in Moorhead, MN, he completed his Bachelors degree at Moorhead State in 3 years. In his post graduate work he earned 3 Masters degrees and was just a dissertation short of earning his Doctorate.
During his life Lewis lived in Minnesota, New Mexico, Missouri, Illinois, Washington, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, Virginia, and North Dakota before choosing the beautiful community of Klamath Falls, OR as his last home.
He had a keen scientific mind and worked in computer science at Boeing, White Sands Missile Range, Los Alamos National Laboratories, NASA, and Fed Ex.
Lewis loved to work with computers and enjoyed singing. Later in life he combined these two interests by making his own MIDI files to sing along to. Sometimes he would perform for his friends and neighbors in Klamath Falls. His other passions included games, photography, books, cats, Norse and Irish culture, Monty Python, and Japanese animation.
He is survived by his sister Suzanne Lowe (Phil) in Arizona, his sons David Lowe in California, Robert Lowe (Kimberly) in Texas, and Rick Lowe (Becka) in Washington, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and many aunts and uncles.
