Marla Gail Kirkpatrick-Moore
July 27, 1947 – January 24, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marla Gail Kirkpatrick-Moore, age 77, on January 24, 2025, in Klamath Falls, Oregon surrounded by her loving family, after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
Marla was born on July 27, 1947, in Klamath Falls, to Orville Kirkpatrick and Emma Enloe-Kirkpatrick. She grew up on her family farm in Malin, Oregon, where she cherished the companionship of her horse, Scout, and her dog, Cindy. Marla attended Malin High School, graduating in 1965, where she was an active cheerleader. She later attended business college in Klamath Falls.
For 36 years, Marla worked as a bookkeeper at Cy’s Supermarket, where she became an integral part of the community. Her hard work, attention to detail, and warm personality made her a beloved figure to all who knew her.
Marla was a devoted wife to Raymond Moore for 59 years and a loving mother to her children: Wendi Oates (Jeffrey) and Nathan Moore (Christa). She adored her grandchildren: Andrew Carleton (Sarah), Rylee Stahla (Erik), Logan Carleton, Waylon Moore, and Carli Moore, as well as her great-grandchildren, Colt Raymond and Andi Lynn Carleton. Marla never missed a game or event, always cheering on her children and grandchildren in sports like basketball,
softball, volleyball, football, and rodeo.
Her love for animals was boundless, and she spent much of her time caring for them, especially her chihuahuas TJ and Mitzi. Marla also enjoyed tending to her flowers in the garden, which brought her much joy. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness were felt by all who knew her.
Marla was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Gwendolyn Kirkpatrick-Johnson, and her sister-in-law, Ollie Norwood. She was also preceded by brothers-in-law Dick, George, Orville, Dewey Moore and Wayne Lathrop.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Abraham (Abe) Kirkpatrick (Sharon), Joani Lathrop, Anne Zoellmer, and JC Moore (Linda); and numerous nieces and nephews, including her special niece, Trish McBee.
A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Thousand Hills Church to honor and celebrate Marla’s life.
Marla’s family and friends will remember her as a loving, devoted, and kind-hearted woman whose legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
