Mary Josephine Buckingham, 78, died in her home in Keno and has joined her beloved husband, Butch. Mary Jo was born March 18, 1946 in Klamath Falls, OR.
The daughter of the late Chet and Marybelle Amerling, she married Butch on May 18, 1968 in Klamath Falls, OR. Mary Jo graduated from Sacred Heart High School and OTI (currently OIT). After graduating, she worked as a radiology technician early in her career and then retired from the Klamath County School District in 2008.
Mary Jo’s most accomplished job titles were being a loving wife, mother of three, and “Nan” to her seven grandchildren.
Mary Jo was a devout Catholic and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church regularly.
Many of her favorite memories were spent camping, crabbing, boating and playing card games with family and friends. She also loved sudoku puzzles and watching the Game Show Network.
Mary Jo was loved dearly and her smile was contagious.
She is survived by her three children, their spouses and her grandchildren: Ron & Sue, Gabby and Richie Buckingham, Gerry & Wendy, Brooke, Aspen and Summer Buckingham, Brenda & Eric Hoffman, Josh and Maddie Clemens.
Her siblings, Bill Amerling & wife Terry, Carole Bowen & husband Tom, numerous nieces and nephews, and close relatives Ken and Kathy Leppert.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband Butch, and older brother Jerry.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 19th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m., with concluding services following at Keno Cemetery.
