Michael "Mitch" Fredrick Taylor

Michael “Mitch” Fredrick Taylor passed away on July 15, 2023. In his final days he was
surrounded with the family and friends he loved so much. Mitch was born on February 21, 1955,
the son of Fred and Joan Taylor of Merrill, Oregon. He was the third of eleven children.
Mitch grew up in Merrill playing sports, working hard, and having adventures with his
friends and family. Mitch knew how to include others and make them feel welcome. He was full
of jokes, and funny stories. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing, artifact hunting, with a dog
(or four!) by his side. He loved dancing and won many dance contests with his wife Adela. Mitch
was a talented woodworker and enjoyed creating beautiful custom fences, gates, and furniture
from Juniper character wood.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years Adela, children Aaron, Emily (Eric Bonds), their
mother Karen, adopted son Israel, grandchildren Elysia, Carson, and Sage. He is also survived
by his mother Joan, sisters Katie Melich (Rob), Joannie Hawkins (Kenny), Sally (Rick
Anderson), Anne Williams (Ben), brothers Bill (Mary), Tom (Cindy), and numerous nieces and
nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 9:00 am at the Merrill City Hall
Reception Hall in Merrill, Oregon. All are invited to attend and celebrate the life of Mitch Taylor.
