We celebrate and honor the life of Michelle DeFillipo, a woman whose warmth, love, and generosity touched so many. Michelle was born on October 7, 1960, in California, where she was raised by her loving parents, Jeanne and Mike. She later welcomed a younger brother, Michael, into her life. From an early age, Michelle dreamed of one day building a large, loving family of her own.
That dream became a reality when she met a hardworking and devoted young man named Robert. Their love story began with an exciting elopement to Las Vegas, where they exchanged vows and embarked on a journey that would last over four decades. Together, they built a beautiful life, eventually settling in Klamath Falls, Oregon, where their family continued to grow.
Michelle’s greatest joy in life was her family. She and Robert were blessed with five wonderful children—Jason, Jenny, Cassie, David, and Ryan—who filled their home with laughter, love, and adventure. Her legacy continued to expand with eight grandchildren: Allyssa, Ethan, Ashlee, Madison, Saxton, Angelica, Evelette, and Santiago. And through them, she was further blessed with great-grandchildren: Lane, Jackson, and Oaklee.
Michelle’s life was one of love, generosity, and adventure. Whether she was cooking a homemade meal, embarking on road trips, or enjoying time at Lake of the Woods, she embraced life with an open heart. She cherished her friendships, especially those formed through her Red Hat Club and Hoot Owl Club, and she welcomed everyone into her home with open arms. If you walked through her door, you were family—expected to sit, eat, and share in the warmth of her hospitality.
Her home was more than just a place; it was a gathering space filled with laughter, stories, and the deep connections she fostered with those around her. She had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen and loved, and her presence turned friends into family.
While the loss of Michelle leaves an immeasurable void, her spirit lives on in those she loved. She is present in the lessons she taught, the kindness she shared, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy continues in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and in all whose lives she touched.
As we say goodbye, let us not dwell on sorrow but instead celebrate the beautiful life she lived. May we honor her by carrying forward her love, her kindness, and her generous spirit. Michelle’s presence may no longer fill a room, but her love will forever fill our hearts.
