Patricia "Pat" Ann Venable was born in Lodi, California on September 6, 1941. She passed away in Klamath Falls, Oregon on March 22, 2024. Pat was the 2nd daughter of Victor Elliott Nevin and Carrie Mae (Brennan). Growing up, she worked with her father on the cattle ranch. As a teenager, she started working at the McCormick Pear Shed, who were neighbors to the ranch. She graduated from Galt High School in 1959. After graduating high school, she attended San Jose State University and was working for Emporium, a retail store.
Pat was married to Thomas "Tom" M. Venable on May 13, 1962, in San Jose, California. Tom was son of Vern A. Venable and Hilda Mae Raynor.
Tom was working at the Mt. Hamilton Lick Observatory and Pat was working at a chiropractor office. Later, she went to work for the Lick Observatory and ran the switchboard and as a secretary. They moved to Dairy, Oregon to work for Nevin Cattle Company, in October of 1966. In 1974, Biaggi-Venable was created by Tom and Pat Venable, and C.W. "Bill" and Peggy Biaggi. They formed a partnership, and the partnership purchased half of the Neving Cattle Company. The four of them raised cattle and grew hay and grain.
In 1988, Pat and MaryLou Howland formed Have Kettle Will Cook and started a successful, custom catering business for 18 years and created a cookbook together years later. She was very active in Klamath County Cattlemen, Oregon Cattlewomen, American National Cattlewomen, an active Soroptimist member, and Cattlemen's Beef Board for the 6-year term. She was the president of Klamath County Cattlewomen in 1984 and 1985, and the president of Oregon Cattlewomen from 2005 to 2007. She attended several national cookoffs, as well.
Pat is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Venable of 61 years, her two children Julie L. Garcia and John M.
