Sharon Jaco Obituary

Sharon Jaco, 77, of Klamath Falls, OR, passed away on July 19, 2023 after a battle with cancer. Sharon was born on the 16th of January 1946 to Cammie and Geraldine Brewer in Santa Cruz, CA.  She met Dennis Jaco, and they wed in 1978. Blending their families, she dedicated her life to being a loving and caring mother and homemaker.  Sharon was a passionate crafter and seamstress and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her sewing room. We will miss her greatly. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael. She is survived by her husband Dennis Jaco of Klamath Falls, sister Pam Foster of  NV, Eyvonne Griffith of OR, Rebecca Harsh of AK, Tanya Hellewell of ID, Gary Cheaney of OR, Jolesa Oyler of WA, Jolene Shipp of WA, the children's spouses, 18 grandchildren, and 16  great grandchildren.

Sharon was a creative and compassionate person. If she knew someone was in need she would find some way to give and meet that need.  Sharon was born on the 16 th of January 1946 in Santa Cruz, Ca. She was the first child of Cammie and Geraldine Brewer. Two years later came her younger sister Pam. Her childhood was spent in Watsonville, living on and playing in the Martinelli’s orchards. In another childhood house her father refurbished a chicken coop for the family to live in. Sharon went to school in Watsonville. She lived in Alaska as well as Germany returning to Watsonville. Dennis and Sharon married on New Year’s Eve in 1978 bringing their children together to raise in the Klamath Basin. There was a full house when all the children were in town. Eyvonne, Becky, Tanya, Gary, Jolesa, Jolene, and Michael. They spent summers camping, swimming at Lake of the Woods, and many of the other beautiful places around the Klamath Basin. She loved cooking over the campfires for her family. Last year Sharon and Dennis celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.

Sharon loved caring for animals. At one time she bred miniature poodles, later she had a whole room full of birds that she bred and cared for. She especially treasured her love birds, parrolets, finches, and mustache parrot. Many of you may remember Chief (he’s kind of hard to forget). Her menagerie of animals over the years included some dachshunds, rabbits, a variety of cats, a hedgehog and more.  Sharon was a creative person learning to sew in High school excelling in it so well that she could create her own patterns. She made clothes for her children, curtains, blankets, quilts, baby blankets, burp cloths and many other varieties of crafts with her surger, sewing machine, knitting needles and crochet hooks. She was a part of the Tabitha ministries that made items for organizations such as Operation Christmas Child, Women’s Crisis Center, and the Pregnancy Hope Center.

Sharon loved when her family was all together. She had pictures of her children and grandchildren all over her house. She enjoyed her family reunions and sent cards regularly to her parents and sister. I remember one Mother’s day when the pastor asked all the Mothers to stand asking how many children and grandchildren the women had. She had the biggest smile on her face finding she had the most of all the women there. She loved each and every one of those in her family.  The world is a sadder place without Sharon in our lives. But Sharon touched each and every one of our lives and has left us with memories we will cherish forever.
